Omega Replica Seamaster Aqua Terra with details referring to Armand Duplantis

Swedish pole vaulter Armand “Mondo” Duplantis – the current world and Olympic champion – inspired Omega Replica designers to create a new version of the Seamaster Aqua Terra model.

Duplantis, from Sweden, is currently number 1 in the world in pole vaulting. On April 20, 2024, for the eighth time in his career, he broke the world record, which currently stands at 6.24 m.

On this occasion, Omega (“Mondo” is the brand ambassador) decided to present a new version of the Aqua Terra model dedicated to him. What catches your eye first is the color of the watch. The Swiss chose to combine a dark blue shield with yellow accessories, which is a reference to the flag of Sweden, the pole vaulter’s homeland.

The quarter hour digits on the minute scale, the Seamaster inscription and the central seconds hand are yellow. The latter also received a shape resembling a high jumping pole, and the element serving as a handle was covered with Super-LumiNova. In turn, the dial is decorated with the motif of horizontal lines known and liked by Aqua Terra fans, and then decorated with applied indexes filled with a luminous substance.

A similar color combination as on the dial can also be found on the strap, where blue rubber is combined with yellow stitching.

Inside the 41 mm steel case (partly brushed, partly polished) is the automatic caliber 8900 with Master Chronometer certification. The energy accumulated in the two spring barrels will allow the watch to operate continuously for approximately 60 hours. The mechanism – decorated with Omega’s characteristic “arabesque” pattern – is visible through the glass cover.

The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra, inspired by the Swedish pole vaulter, will go on sale for PLN 32,100.
