The IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar is clearly the technical highlight of the current IWC collection. It is not just its precision that impresses, as it has mastered all the exceptions to the Gregorian calendar perfectly for several thousand years, and the moon phase even for several million years. It is also very comfortable to wear because it is easy to adjust. For me, an IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar is not just a technical masterpiece. Rather, it is also an invitation and a warning to think about the generations after us and to create a good future for them. A future in which these later generations are just as enthusiastic about watches and actually bring pieces like this in for service so that they can last for further generations.
IWC Ingenieur
Anyone who loves Gérard Genta’s designs, such as the Nautilus by Patek Philippe or the Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet, will be pleased to hear that IWC also has a classic stainless steel sports watch in the Genta design in its range: the IWC Ingenieur. This was adapted to the present in 2023 with great attention to detail and is an instant hit. Because I rarely find elegance and love of technology so perfectly combined as in this model, which I consider to be perhaps the most beautiful watch from IWC.
