1.Breitling Aerospace B70 Orbiter – A fragment of history on your wrist

A little trip in a hot air balloon? Why not, most people probably think. However, it is a different story when two people want to fly around the world in a hot air balloon. That is exactly what happened 25 years ago, when Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones flew non-stop around the world in the Breitling Orbiter 3, a so-called Rozière (a combination of a gas and a hot air balloon). Distance, duration, altitude – there was hardly an area in which the two aviation pioneers did not set a new record. Bertrand Piccard wore several Breitling watches on this adventure, which the Swiss watch manufacturer is proud to point out with a new product for 2024: the Breitling Aerospace B70 Orbiter.

On March 21, 2024, exactly 25 years after the landing of the Breitling Orbiter 3, Breitling launched a special timepiece to commemorate this historic event. A special highlight: Each watch contains a fragment of the historic Orbiter balloon, which can be seen through the glass on the back of the watch.

The new Breitling Aerospace B70 Orbiter with its bright orange dial is sure to catch the eye, and the story behind it is a great conversation starter when watch fans meet.

The combination of digital and analogue display that can be seen on many of Breitling’s professional models today dates back to a model from 1985. Behind it is the thermo-compensated SuperQuartz™ B70 movement, which is manufactured in-house at Breitling and is COSC-certified.
